As a teenager Kathryn discovered the power of developing a conscious mind-body-spirit connection when she found she could ease her friends' headaches by laying her hands on their faces. This sparked a passion to pursue healing, and her own experience of chronic back pain due to scoliosis, led her to yoga. Kathryn's studies of yoga, meditation, Thai massage and nutrition are inspired by a variety of perspectives gained through world travel. Her yoga for scoliosis approach is based on the work of Iyengar instructor Elise Miller.
Kathryn firmly believes that every person holds the answers to their own questions. Whether a student’s goal is to reduce pain, improve posture, breathe fully, find more energy or enjoy a deeper sleep, Kathryn sees her role as a facilitator, offering tools and support to every individual on their journey of self-discovery and healing. She is a practitioner member of the Victoria Community Health Cooperative. Her e-book, “Scoliosis Undone,” is available at: www.yogakat.ca.
