Are you interested in exploring simple exercises to relieve discomfort from your Scoliosis or Fusion? Or are you a yoga teacher or bodyworker who is interested in learning more about working with these conditions?

If so, then these are the workshops for you!

'Explore Your Fusion' is an opportunity for you to experience gentle movements that will bring ease to the whole body. Starting with breath, moving into dynamic standing poses and continuing with explorations on the floor, these workshops aim to help each participant gain tools to help themselves feel better. Each workshop will begin with an introduction and end with a group Q&A and discussion period.

Following the workshops, attendees will:

  • Understand their own fusion better in order to help themselves with discomfort and pain management

  • Know a series of simple poses and actions that can be practised at home to decompress, lengthen and strengthen the spine.

  • Have an opportunity to discuss their questions and concerns with others facing the same challenges.

Martha's gentle approach brings together her experiences as a dance artist, yoga teacher, and ‘scoliosis warrior with a fused spine’ to share movement techniques – combining yoga, somatics, freestyle movement, breathing and relaxation techniques – that bring awareness, comfort, fluidity, and strength to the whole body.

    Each workshop includes an introduction, guided movement, Q&A and a closing discussion. Note: AUDIO recordings (ideal for Somatics) will be available to all registrants for two weeks following each class.

Single Workshop -
$30 CAD +5% tax (sliding scale available based on need)
2 Workshop Bundle - Both workshops for $50 CAD +5% tax (20% discount)

Five steps to prepare for TOPS online workshops:

  1. Find a quiet, warm room without noise or other distractions.

  2. Have a yoga mat (or another surface such as a rug, an exercise mat, or massage table), a chair without arms, a small head pillow, and scoliosis pads (or other supports/props) where required. 

  3. Wear loose clothing. 

  4. Place your computer or other device in a position where you can easily see the screen and yourself. TAKE NOTE: If you cannot see yourself on the mat, then Martha cannot either (it's helpful to have the computer on a chair or small ladder that can be easily re-positioned if necessary).

  5. Click on the ZOOM link from the invitation email you will receive to get to the meeting ‘waiting room’ and Martha will allow you in starting up to 15 minutes before the class time.

  6. Once in the meeting, you can select Martha’s video ‘box’ to either pin the video (for computers) or activate the speaker (for iPads). Also, make sure your audio is working :)
