MOVING WITH SCOLIOSIS
Wednesdays, 10:00am - 11:15am PT

This weekly class supports the development of strength, flexibility, balance and agility as well as pain reduction and the prevention of curve progression. Multiple movement modalities are explored, including Postural Yoga, The Schroth Method, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Restorative Exercise, and Z-Health Neurological-Based Movement Training.


DEB WOLK

VIRTUAL INTERMEDIATE YOGA & SCOLIOSIS
Thursdays, 12:30pm - 2:00pm ET

For students with an established yoga for scoliosis practice who have props at home. All poses will be modified with props and awareness techniques so each student can move along with his/her practice. There will also be some focus on inversions. This class is not for beginners.

VARIETY OF IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL CLASSES

Samamkāya Yoga Back Care & Scoliosis Collective is a therapeutic, worker-owned yoga studio. Their aim is to make yoga accessible and healing to students of all ages and abilities who are living with back injuries, chronic/acute pain, differently shaped spines/bodies, scoliosis and spinal fusions. They offer daily therapeutic back care and scoliosis classes, private lessons, and weekend and (some) evening workshops and teacher trainings.

Namchi Bazar developed her unique somatic approach to core wellness over 25 years as a professional dancer, Pilates Instructor, Yamuna® Body Rolling Practitioner and mother of three.  She is compassionate, sincere and enthusiastic as she helps people feel their best in their body-mind.

Her group classes and private sessions are grounding, with a clear focus on experiential anatomy and functional movement in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.  Namchi encourages authenticity and listening inwards, and believes that conscious action fosters greater self-awareness and empowerment.   She embraces movement education as tools for self care, self regulating, and self preservation in terms of recovering from pregnancy and birth, habitual holding patterns, injury recovery and aging gracefully.

Elise Miller, M.A. in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of North Carolina, is a Senior Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher (CIYT) and is Certified from International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT). Elise resides in Palo Alto and has been teaching yoga throughout the United States and internationally since 1976. As a founding director of the California Yoga Center in Mountain View, CA, Elise teaches classes and workshops specializing in back and sports-related injuries.

FEEL GOOD SPINE

Claudia is a Scoliosis Coach who helps people all around the world to feel confident in their curves, while helping them to slow progression and reduce scoliosis-related pain. She offers a Feel Good Scoliosis membership that includes hard-to-find information, diverse classes, and a 12-week workout guides. Claudia also offers 45-minute private calls.

Claudia’s social media & YouTube pages (@thefeelgoodspine) are full of scoliosis related content including scoliosis-friendly workouts, yoga classes, and tips. She also has a podcast called Feel Good Spine by Claudia Katherine which is available on all major podcast platforms.

Martha’s ‘Scoliosis Saturdays’ class 'Somatic Yoga for Scoliosis and Fusions' offers a very gentle and foundational approach to movement that helps everyone to move with ease and without pain. Gentle movement for scoliotic spines helps people breathe into their concavities, decompress their curves, derotate their twists, repattern their imbalances, reinforce new patterns, strengthen and stabilize weak areas, and in general feel better about their backs!

‘Gentle Yoga Sundays’ is a casual yet stimulating Sunday starter! This class is gentle - with just the right amount of challenge for all levels and body types. Each class starts sitting in a kitchen-type chair for some deep breathing and gentle stretching. This is followed by dynamic movement which leads to restorative relaxation on the floor. From there, your Sunday has begun…
